On being a Landscape Photographer

When I look through the lens of my camera I seek to compose the best possible landscape for you the viewer. Often I see really good things through my lens. Naturally I seek out places that will give me such a view. Lately I have been noticing that I see bad things too. New Zealand is a very beautiful place. I love it a lot. It is marketed as a country that is pure, clean, green under the 100% brand. That is not entirely the truth at all! New Zealand has been leaning on this brand for too long and things have slipped. To tell the truth and help bring about change I have launched a separate web site called Unpure New Zealand and it can be found here

Rimu Wood Bowls

For the last 25 years we have been here at Kumara on the West Coast of the South Island of New Zealand making our fabulous bowls from Rimu wood  Rimu is one of the world’s finest decorative timbers. We craft exhibition and museum quality pieces from salvaged wood. Rimu is a very slow growing Podocarp tree. Learn about the Podocarp Forests that cloak the West Coast of the South Island of New Zealand.
